"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:18-20)

Before His ascension to heaven, the last command Jesus gave His disciples was to go to the uttermost parts of the earth and preach the gospel, the good news of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). This the disciples did beginning first in Jerusalem (Acts 1:8; cf. Acts 2, chapter 8:4-5; chapter 10). By the time Paul wrote to the Colossian church (c. A.D. 60) the gospel had been preached to every creature under heaven (Colossians 1:23; cf. Matthew 24:14).

Today, that mission still holds true as we seek to serve the living God. Since that first century the message of Jesus has been poluuted by man-made doctrines not found in Scripture as was warned (1 Timothy 4:1ff) and so the gospel as revealed in the Bible alone must be taken to all the world again. To this end, churches of Christ work in their own communities preaching and teaching the gospel. Some Christians attend Bible schools to better prepare themselves for their service to God and others leave for countries that desperately need the preaching of the gospel.

Here are some of the works that churches of Christ in Scotland do for the glory of God.
