Christians in Scotland invite you to join us for worship and Bible study and to browse this web site. We encourage you to learn more about the Lord's church and His plan for your salvation.

The "churches of Christ" is the name Paul gives to the body of believers we read of in the New Testament (Romans 16:16). It is called the "body of Christ" in Ephesians 1:22-23 of which Christ is the head. In Acts 20:28, Paul refers to the "church of God which He purchased with His own blood." He wrote to that same church in Ephesus and said, "There is one body..." (Ephesians 4:4), "body" meaning "church".

The word "church" in the Koine Greek, the language the New Testament was written in, means "assembly". The church is an assembly of Christians, that is, people who follow Christ. We study the Bible to learn God's will for us in all matters spiritual. It teaches us how to become a Christian, how to worship Him, how to talk with Him (prayer), how to behave in a way to glorify God (serve) and how to treat those around us, both friend and foe (love). It provides us all that we need to know to live godly lives and to do good works (2 Peter 1:3; 2 Timothy 3:16-17). The Bible is so straightforward in its teachings that there is no need for Christians to rely on others to interpret it for them. God expects us to read His Bible and has confidence enough in us that we know what He means (His words) and to trust Him that He means what He says (our faith).

When you visit the churches of Christ you will experience a simple and friendly worship service and meet people who are developing their relationship with God. Learn more about churches of Christ and the Bible by following the links on this web page and find the church of Christ near you.

God bless you.
